Primary care eye care contracts – contract changes and variations

NHS eyecare is a vital primary care service, and commissioners play an essential role in ensuring that effective contractual arrangements are in place to deliver accessible, high-quality care for patients. Once contracts are in place, commissioners must also handle change requests.

This three-hour virtual training session provides a detailed overview of the types of variations commissioners may encounter. It covers changes to services, ownership, and other contractual matters, as well as the processes that must be followed to manage and implement these changes appropriately.

The agenda includes:

• Introduction to contracts
• Variations to services
• Variations to ownership
• Other contractual changes.

The session will be delivered by one of our eyecare experts. Delegates will benefit most through active participation, including engaging in discussions, asking questions, taking part in group activities, and using interactive tools. There will also be opportunities to share experiences, discuss current challenges, and explore practical solutions with both the facilitator and fellow participants.

This session is for commissioners and those working on their behalf.

By the end of the course, delegates will feel confident in managing and implementing contract variations and other change requests.
