The recent NHS England and NHS Improvement guidance for primary care networks (PCNs) has clearly outlined that they will need to collaborate with others to achieve. In particular, collaboration with community pharmacy is essential to improve prevention and support, reducing health inequalities, to improve patient access to services and deliver better outcomes for patients on medication.
PCC is working with several areas to facilitate collaboration between community pharmacies and PCNs. With the importance of working together in areas such as the community pharmacist consultation service (CPCS) and the community pharmacy hypertension case finding service these links need developing and maximising to make best use of the wider primary care team. If you would like to explore PCC support for your area contact enquiries@pcc-cic.org.uk.
