In this edition of PCC Insight there is a strong theme – collaborate. Health Boards and clusters, including all of primary care need to work with others, not just to support the Healthier Wales agenda but to survive. This is a major cultural, and mindset, shift and is an area on which we are working with clients.
Health Boards need to become facilitative system leaders, setting the climate for joint discussions on outcomes, value, development of services to best meet the needs of their population, working in partnership with citizens as well as health and care providers. Health Boards need to become the enabler and shaper.
Clusters, including all primary care contractor groups and other providers need to be at the table to consider shift of services towards prevention, and care closer to home.
Thoughts on collaboration, including how to use the GMS Directed Collaborative Service to get started are included in this edition.
