Integrated care boards (ICBs) will be trying to ensure they have hit the ground running and will be keen to see an early impact from place level work and primary care networks (PCNs).
Challenges include risks to business continuity especially at individual provider level, and in particular, risks to general medical practices. Workforce is probably top of the risk list. The opportunities may be difficult to spot. We have worked to future proof practices by working with others, including practices and other providers to support resilience. We have developed estates strategies that look at the estate across a PCN and where opportunities may be found to expand clinical space.
